507 | Called to Purity and Protection
Wednesday Sep 24, 2025
Wednesday Sep 24, 2025
Deuteronomy 22 is rich with detailed instructions that, at first glance, may seem far removed from our daily lives. Yet every commandment in this chapter shows the heart of a God who cares about how His people live together in community. Moses addressed a generation preparing to enter the Promised Land. These were people who had spent centuries in Egypt and many years wandering in the wilderness, exposed to pagan practices and other cultures. They needed clear direction on how to establish a society that honored the Lord.
This chapter ranges from very practical matters, such as caring for a neighbor’s livestock or building a safe house, to deeply personal matters of purity, marriage, and sexual morality. In every case God’s purpose is evident. His people are to live in holiness, protect and respect one another, and show compassion to all creation. Verse 4 captures this heart of neighborly responsibility, calling us to help those around us and to care for what belongs to others.
“Thou shalt not see thy brother’s ass or his ox fall down by the way, and hide thyself from them: thou shalt surely help him to lift them up again” (Deuteronomy 22:4).
Though we now live on this side of the cross and are not bound by the ceremonial law, the principles behind these instructions still guide us. God desires that we be good neighbors, value purity and honesty, and treat every part of His creation with care and respect. Deuteronomy 22 reminds us that God’s law is not just about rules; it is about love for Him and love for others.

People often look for defects, frailty, and faults in others and don’t even notice their own mistakes, even when those mistakes are equal to or more serious than the ones they are pointing out. Join us in this podcast of Woman at the Well Ministries as Kim Miller takes us on a journey through the scriptures, painting a vivid picture from John chapter 8. The town gathered to stone a woman caught in sin, yet everyone present was guilty of their own sins. One by one, they left as Jesus convicted them of their actions. Then there was one who acknowledged her sins, and Jesus said, “Woman, where are those thine accusers? Hath no man condemned thee? Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.”

504 | Respect for Life and God’s Direction (Deuteronomy 21)
Tuesday Sep 16, 2025
Tuesday Sep 16, 2025
Have you ever wondered what God’s Word teaches about honoring life and pursuing holiness even when the culture around us does not? Deuteronomy chapter 21 may seem challenging at first, but it points us to timeless truths about God’s care for people and His call to live set apart.
In this episode of the Woman at the Well Ministries podcast, Erika Klose walks through the chapter’s rich lessons, from the need for atonement through the shedding of blood, to God’s design for marriage and family, to the respect due to every human life, even in death. Together we will see how these ancient instructions reveal God’s heart for mercy, justice, and obedience and how they ultimately lead us to Jesus, whose blood provides the only true atonement for sin.
Join us as we explore how to live lives of holiness and love, remembering that every life is precious and that we are deeply loved by Christ.

503 | Love Never Fails
Monday Sep 15, 2025
Monday Sep 15, 2025
Find the complete show notes here: https://watwm.podbean.com/.
The world would lead you to believe that love is easy and love is cheap. In the course of even casual conversations, you can hear people say, "I love you," even to almost strangers. We hear it on television. We read about it in books. We read glitzy stories about it in magazines. The phrase "I love you" is popular in our culture but rarely lived out in our lives.
The way we love one another is in direct correlation to how we love Jesus. He said that we are to love one another, and that people would know we are His disciples because we have love for one another.
God is love, so when we enter into a relationship with Him, we receive the love that is within Him, and that love pulses through our veins. We can truly love unconditionally, completely, and honestly.
Earthly relationships that are healthy and sincere give us glimpses of the love God gives us, demonstrates to us, and the love that flows through us. My relationship with Jesus gives me an others-centered focus, which puts me in alignment with God and creates the best possible scenario for me.
Come join Kim as she takes us on a journey discovering how to live "I love you" with a love that never fails!

501 | Encouragement for the Battle (Deuteronomy 20)
Wednesday Sep 10, 2025
Wednesday Sep 10, 2025
Have you ever faced a battle that seemed bigger than you? Deuteronomy chapter 20 reminds us that for God’s people, battles were never a matter of if but when. The Israelites would face enemies with more horses, more chariots, and more soldiers — yet they had something far greater: the presence of the Lord their God and the memory of His past victories.
In this chapter, Moses teaches the people how to go to war God’s way: with courage, with order, with compassion, and with faith. From the priest’s encouragement before battle, to the exemptions for those not ready to fight, to the command to speak peace before raising the sword, and even to the stewardship of fruit trees, we see that God’s instructions were never about destruction for destruction’s sake — they were about preserving life, guarding holiness, and trusting Him.
Join us for this episode of the Woman at the Well Ministries podcast as Erika Klose walks through Deuteronomy 20 and reminds us that in our daily battles we are never alone. The Lord goes with us, His desire for us is peace, and His love sustains us through every challenge.
